One of the best things about unemployment is being able to say yes to an extra NBA floor seat ticket on a Wednesday night in Phoenix. There is nothing better than booking a flight on the fly and finding yourself with your best friend sitting in between Cindy McCain (would have been cooler if it was Michelle Obama) and Larry Fitzgerald!
I am not a big sports fan but this was one of the coolest things I have ever experienced. And seeing the talent of these giant athletes up close and personal has given me a whole new appreciation of basketball. (To the men in my life who have always wanted to sit court side at an NBA game…I apologize for the annoyance of this statement. I am sure you feel this ticket was wasted on me.)
I probably will never sit court side at an NBA game again, so I had to honor the moment here and appreciate that at this moment in time I am able to accept the gift of spontaneity.
